If you or someone you know needs Avista Utility bill assistance come to the food bank during our food distribution hours (Mon. 2 – 5:45, W & F 1 – 3:45). The person whose name is on the bill must come in person with the bill and provide the following documentation: social security cards for all household members, photo identification for ages 18+. Proof of current street address, and proof of income.
Many hands make light work! The GreenHouse Team wishes to thank the FFA and DECA students at Deer Park High School for their annual food drive donation. Monday, November 20, more than 20 students and their advisors swarmed the warehouse, cheerfully sorting and shelving the food they’d collected during their drive. Thank you, teens and advisors! We appreciate you.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Tom’s Turkey Drive. We are grateful for the 40 volunteers who stepped up and made this year’s event run so smoothly. Not only did they distribute several hundred turkey boxes, they also cleaned the entire warehouse and organized the clothing bank too. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our food bank, and we are so blessed by them.
We will be open Wednesday, Nov 22 from 1-3:45 for normal service. We will be closed Friday, November 24 to give our volunteers and staff a day off.
During the week of Thanksgiving we will be open for regular service on Monday, November 20 from 2-5:45 p.m.and Wednesday, November 22 from 1-3:45 p.m. We will be closed Friday, November 24.
Tom’s Turkey Drive Details
Please remember that this year, Second Harvest required that people sign up in advance for Tom’s Turkey Drive. If you made reservations, then the distribution will be Tuesday, November 21 from 1-5 p.m. This is a drive through event. Please enter the food bank from the south driveway. You are welcome to pick up a friend, relative, or neighbor’s box. In fact, carpooling for this would be greatly appreciated.
