Denise joined the Greenhouse team May, 2023. She comes from the Oregon Coast, but her husband’s family is from Deer Park–yes, that Porter family!–and has strong farming and community roots in Deer Park.
Denise and her husband Dave have been married since 2000 and have three children. Denise is a homeschooling mother and works during the school year for Deer Park Home Link. The Porters have a large garden, raise their own beef, and Denise uses the food they grow to cook the majority of the family’s meals.
Denise has had classes in both Master Gardening and Master Food Preservation through Oregon State University and was a 4-H Foods club leader for 15 years.
