Yep, we up and did it. We moved to a new location the week of September 16th through the 20th. We didn’t go far literally just around the corner. We are now settled (sort of) and have been open for almost a whole week. The Greenhouse wants the many volunteers who gave up the weekends to help us make this move. We were thankful for all the help as there was a lot of stuff to move.
You can now set up monthly giving to The GreenHouse each month. We are so grateful for each of our financial partners. Let’s make a difference together!
Thank you to everyone who participated in Tom’s Turkey Drive. We are grateful for the 40 volunteers who stepped up and made this year’s event run so smoothly. Not only did they distribute several hundred turkey boxes, they also cleaned the entire warehouse and organized the clothing bank too. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our food bank, and we are so blessed by them.
We will be open Wednesday, Nov 22 from 1-3:45 for normal service. We will be closed Friday, November 24 to give our volunteers and staff a day off.
During the week of Thanksgiving we will be open for regular service on Monday, November 20 from 2-5:45 p.m.and Wednesday, November 22 from 1-3:45 p.m. We will be closed Friday, November 24.
Tom’s Turkey Drive Details
Please remember that this year, Second Harvest required that people sign up in advance for Tom’s Turkey Drive. If you made reservations, then the distribution will be Tuesday, November 21 from 1-5 p.m. This is a drive through event. Please enter the food bank from the south driveway. You are welcome to pick up a friend, relative, or neighbor’s box. In fact, carpooling for this would be greatly appreciated.
The GreenHouse team would like to thank the Deer Park and Spokane-area businesses who collect toy donations on behalf of our patron families.
The month of July our volunteers, led by GreenHouse Operations Manager Mike Achurra, set up a wonderful display for GreenHouse families to select a toy for each child in their home.
Christmas in July is a treasured event in the GreenHouse calendar year, and we are so grateful to be able to bring smiles to the faces of our local children. Thank you to all who help made this event happen!
