Hello Deer Park,

Do you recall that at the beginning of last month I told you all how much the GreenHouse was in need of monetary donations?

We are a mostly volunteer run food bank and have approximately 55 volunteers that serve here. Every week, we help provide food for 90-110 families. 

If you will recall, we have a very limited paid staff at the GreenHouse–2 people, in fact! But—we have a mortgage, utilities, insurance, and gasoline bills to pay, and we rely on donations from the community to help us. 

I am pleased to give you an update on our fundraising. Our volunteers got busy addressing envelopes and folding donation letters, and our friends on social media shared the letter I wrote that was posted on our website.

Soon, the donations began rolling in. Some donations were $5, and some were for much more than that, and every dollar counted!

We still need funds, but our most dire need has been met. We will keep our lights on, our grocery rescue van fueled up, and our doors open for the next few months.
