thank you

The GreenHouse would like to give a giant thank you to Robert Strickland of Boy Scout Troop 202.
Robert recently hosted a benefit concert in Mix Park as part of his Eagle Scout project. Robert donated the funds raised at the concert to the GreenHouse. This totaled approximately $500.

Local Scouting troops have been so wonderful giving their time to our local food bank, and we are so grateful. This is truly an example of neighbors helping neighbors.

Great work Robert! Thank you for thinking of your neighbors in need while you completed your Eagle Scout project. Congratulations!

Thank you for your generosity!

Hello Deer Park,

We at the GreenHouse would like to extend a giant THANK YOU to all who have donated food in the last month. Your food donations have been greatly appreciated and we are once again busting at the seams with food.

People have dropped off so much food! We could never list everyone–there have been so many of you!—however, there are three donors in particular we’d like to thank.

First, Fire District 4 hosted a food drive to help us, and our neighbors at the Elk Food Pantry. Really, can we ever thank our local firefighters enough for what they do for our community? You’re wonderful!

Next, we’d like to thank Jim and Connie Long of Fresh Cut Farms in Deer Park. The Longs are local organic vegetable farmers who donate produce to us in conjunction with several local agencies. Imagine that! Our clients get fresh, local, organic produce.

Last, and most importantly, we really want to thank our dedicated team of volunteers who drive week in and week out to go pick up grocery rescue from stores in Spokane, and then get the food onto the shelves for our clients. Our volunteers are the backbone of this food bank and their hard work is so appreciated.

Thank You, Greenhouse

Denise - Client Services Manager

Today I’d like to thank all of our clients and supporters for a wonderful year with the GreenHouse.

It’s been an honor to serve our clients—we’ve had some laughter and some tears and we have fed and clothed so many people.

It’s been an immeasurable pleasure working alongside the volunteer team who serves as the backbone of this food bank.

I am sad to leave you all in my current role at the GreenHouse, but the need for my family made this necessary. In January one of my family members began having health issues and has now been diagnosed with a chronic condition.

My family member will be okay, but this diagnosis meant that I needed to search for a job with a robust health insurance plan.

I intend to still help at the food bank, and have joined the ranks of our volunteers. You may not see me from day to day but I will be there, helping nonetheless.

All of that written, the GreenHouse is in good hands, and great things are on the horizon! Our clients continue to be served. Stay tuned, because the future is going to be awesome.

Thank you Deer Park, and thank you GreenHouse.

(Interested in knowing how you can help the GreenHouse? The easiest way is by donation. The need has never been greater. The GreenHouse needs cash donations to fund its monthly operating expenses, which are small, but necessary. Thank you for considering.)

Thank you Golden Wings Pet-Food Pantry!

Thank you Golden Wings Pet-Food Pantry!

The GreenHouse received a generous donation of dog and cat food from the Golden Wings Pet Food Pantry, which is a service of the West Plains Angels, a group devoted to helping veterans.

We are so grateful for this generousity, and to our volunteer, Carol, who made contact with the good folks at Golden Wings, and arranged for the delivery.

This sacred work has given our non-profit organization an opportunity for growth as more-and-more people have reached out to us for assistance. To further aid them we need help from donors, like you! Thank you to the families of Colton School District for their baby clothing donations to the GreenHouse. Many thanks to our GreenHouse volunteer Susan, for seeing a need and asking her extended family to help fill that void. And last, and importantly, thank you to our GreenHouse clothing bank volunteers for cleaning, organizing, and displaying all of the clothing we get donated. Every day we are open requires at minimum two volunteers to help with clothing donation needs. We are so grateful.
